Evaporators: Centrigugal

A centrifugal evaporator (also known as a vacuum concentrator) uses a combination of vacuum, heat, and centrifugal force to rapidly evaporate solvents from multiple samples simultaneously. Available models from Organomation include:

  • Standard CentriVap: A benchtop unit for high-throughput biology and biochemistry labs, capable of processing up to 148 samples at once.

  • CentriVap Pro: A higher-capacity model designed for rapid processing of up to 312 samples using advanced touchscreen controls.

  • Refrigerated CentriVap Pro: Built for heat-sensitive samples like RNA and proteins; it includes a refrigeration system to maintain low temperatures during the vacuum process.

  • CentriVap DNA / DNA Pro: Fully integrated systems specifically optimized for removing solvents from DNA and other small genomic samples.

  • CentriVap Cold Traps: Essential accessories that capture corrosive vapors to protect the vacuum pump and laboratory environment

Evaporators: Nitrogen Blowdown

Nitrogen evaporators are used to concentrate liquid samples by removing excess solvent. It uses a method called nitrogen blowdown, where a gentle, controlled stream of inert nitrogen gas is directed onto the surface of a sample while it is being heated. Available lines from Organomation include:

  • N-EVAP: Their most flexible line, featuring a circular rotating design. It can hold a variety of different vial sizes (10-30 mm) simultaneously, and each position has its own gas flow control.

  • MULTIVAP: Designed for high-throughput batch processing of large numbers of similar samples (up to 100 at once).

  • MICROVAP: A compact version optimized for small sample volumes in microplates or small vials

Evaporators: Solvent Recovery

Solvent recovery evaporators are designed to capture and condense solvent vapors during the evaporation process rather than venting them into the atmosphere. This allows labs to recycle solvents, reduce hazardous waste costs, and comply with environmental regulations. Available lines from Organomation include:

  • S-EVAP-RB (Round Bottom Flask): Designed for samples in large round-bottom flasks (up to 500 mL or 1L)m where it uses a central water-cooled condenser to recover up to 97% of the solvent. Available in 5, 8 and 10-position models.

  • S-EVAP-KD: Specifically designed for Kuderna-Danish (KD) flasks, which are standard for concentrating extracts for environmental analysis.

  • Large Capacity S-EVAP: Built for industrial or high-volume applications, accommodating flasks up to 2L or 3L. Often used in the extraction of fats or contaminants from large-scale food samples.
